A connectivity issue with 1LINK, which operates Pakistan’s largest interbank network, severely disrupted customer access to cash withdrawals from ATMs on Monday.
As per initial reports, the disruption also impeded online money transfers, adding to customer frustrations.
Customers reported inconveniences as the outage prevented cash withdrawals and affected digital transactions. In response, 1LINK officials acknowledged the connectivity problems with certain banks and assured resolution efforts were underway.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) recently addressed rumours regarding ATM closures. They confirmed no such disruptions in the Long Distance International (LDI) networks affected financial operations, including ATM services. The PTA clarified that operations for expired LDI licensees continue without suspension.
