Karachi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi on Saturday reserved its verdict regarding MQM leader Amir Khan’s request to travel abroad.
Khan’s counsel pleaded before the court that his client is the sponsor of his relatives living in the United Arab Emirates and therefore is required to travel to the UAE every six months. The counsel added that if Amir Khan is not allowed to travel it will destroy the future of his children.
The counsel for the Rangers argued before the court that Amir Khan has claimed he is a permanent resident of the UAE and it is feared that if allowed to leave the country he may not return.
Upon hearing the arguments from both counsels the court has reserved its verdict until the 23rd of December 2015.
Amir Khan had been detained during a Rangers raid at the MQM party headquarters nine-zero in Karachi and was accused of providing shelter to terrorists.
