The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) ordered the arrest of the investigation officer (IO) who failed to arrest the key suspect Shahid Bikik in an attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rashid Godil.
In today’s hearing, the court also ordered the blocking of disbursement of the investigation officer Hussain Mehdi’s salary as Shahid Bikik – a Lyari gangster and a key accused in Godil attack – could not be arrested.
The court has directed the police to arrest both – the accused and the investigation officer – and produce them before the court on February 6.
Shahid Bikik failed to appear before the court after taking bail in three cases. Police report said that the accused is on the run after he was nominated in the Rashid Godil attack case. The bail had bee approved by the court of law.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MQM leader was attacked on August 18, 2015 at Bahadurabad area of Karachi. Godil had received bullet wounds while his driver was killed in the attack.
