NAGOYA: Pakistan beat China 3-0 in the 2026 Asian Games men’s hockey competition on Thursday for their third successive win. All three goals came in the second quarter at Kawasaki Juko Stadium.
Captain Abubakar Mahmood opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Sufyan Khan converted a penalty corner five minutes later, before Hannan Shahid struck a field goal in the 28th minute.
Pakistan remained second in Pool B, level with leaders Malaysia on nine points from three matches each. Malaysia led on goal difference, with a positive balance of 24 goals against Pakistan’s 16.
Neither side scored in the opening quarter. Pakistan then established their lead before half-time and kept China scoreless throughout the second half. Zikriya Hayat received a green card in the third quarter, but China could not break through.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan defeated Thailand 9-0 in their opening match before beating Uzbekistan 5-1. Pakistan next face Malaysia at the same venue on Saturday in their penultimate pool fixture
