Pakistani esports star Arslan Ash has earned his spot in the Tekken 8 tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, set for July 7 to August 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a five-time EVO champion, Ash’s qualification reinforces his status as one of the world’s elite Tekken players.

The EWC 2025, featuring 25 esports titles and over 2,000 competitors from 200+ clubs, boasts a record-breaking $70 million prize pool. The Tekken 8 event, scheduled for August 14–16, will see 32 top players compete for a $1 million purse. Ash, representing Twisted Minds and Red Bull eSports, is poised to shine on this global stage.

Hailing from Lahore, Ash has dominated Tekken with victories at EVO Japan 2019, EVO 2019, EVO Japan 2023, EVO 2023, and EVO 2024, plus the Tekken World Tour Finals 2023, making him the first “Triple Crown” champion. Despite visa challenges that led to withdrawals from events like Evo Japan 2025, his resilience keeps Pakistan prominent in esports. At Combo Breaker 2025, he placed fifth, showcasing his skill against top global talent.

Ash has faced significant hurdles, including visa denials and financial constraints. “We have visa problems. Our passport is among the worst five in the world,” he said after a 2025 Tekken 8 win in Seoul, highlighting the challenges Pakistani players overcome.

Esports analyst Dr. Ayesha Khan from the University of Punjab notes, “Arslan Ash’s consistent excellence elevates Pakistan’s esports profile. His EWC 2025 participation could redefine Tekken’s competitive landscape.” Fans on X are buzzing with excitement, anticipating his performance.

Ash’s journey from Lahore arcades to global stardom embodies resilience. The EWC 2025 offers a chance to cement his legacy.
