The government’s spokesperson has denied media reports that the Army Chief had suggested PM Nawaz to step down for three months.
A meeting was held between PM Nawaz and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Monday.
The meeting that continued for more than 2.5 hours, discussed different options to end the ongoing political crisis.
There were reports that the Army Chief had suggested the PM to resign for three months. However, the government’s spokesperson and the ISPR denied it.
It is important to mention that the PTI had only demanded the PM to step down till the completion of inquiry over the alleged rigging in general elections.
During the meeting, the COAS also briefed the PM about the important decisions being taken during yesterday’s Corps Commander meeting.
