LAHORE, Punjab: Apni Chhat Apna Ghar has disbursed 166,000 interest-free housing loans worth more than Rs215.76 billion across Punjab, the programme spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said 105,594 houses have been completed under the scheme, allowing families to move into newly built homes.
Construction continues on 28,453 houses across the province, while work on another 32,048 homes is expected to begin shortly. The programme has received more than 1.2 million applications.
The spokesperson said more than Rs14.5 billion in loan repayments have been recovered so far. The 91,434 men and 14,007 women have completed homes through the scheme.
The spokesperson said 23 transgender beneficiaries have also received support under Apni Chhat Apna Ghar.

In rural Punjab, 60,139 homes have been completed under the programme. In urban areas, 45,325 homes have been completed.
Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen said the programme aims to provide affordable housing to underprivileged groups.
He said the Punjab government was working to ensure transparency while expanding access for eligible applicants.
Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency says the programme offers interest-free housing finance to low-income families to help them construct homes.
