Amnesty International urged an Amnesty Israel boycott after accusing Israel of a state-backed campaign to forcibly displace Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities in the occupied West Bank.

The rights group issued the call in a 149-page report released this week. The report is titled “Erasing Anything Palestinian: Israel’s Ethnic Cleansing Of West Bank Bedouin And Herding Communities.”

Amnesty Secretary General Agnès Callamard said the displacement was not the work of “a few extremist settlers.” Instead, she said it was part of a state-backed project.

Amnesty said Israel has used its policies in Area C to push Palestinian communities out of targeted areas permanently. Area C covers more than 60% of the West Bank and remains under full Israeli security and civil control.

The group said at least 117 predominantly Bedouin and herding communities faced full or partial displacement between January 2023 and April 2026. The claim cites United Nations data.

Entire Palestinian communities are disappearing from the map.

This is not an accident.

It’s by design.

The report said at least 5,910 people had been forcibly displaced by the end of April 2026. It linked the displacement to demolitions, settler violence and settlement expansion.

Amnesty also cited Peace Now data. It said Israeli settlers had established 363 outposts in the occupied West Bank by the end of April 2026.

Callamard criticised the European Union and Western governments for issuing statements of concern. She said these statements had been made without imposing measures that changed conditions on the ground.

Amnesty called for diplomatic, economic and trade measures. This included suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement and bans on trade linked to illegal settlements.

Israel rejected Amnesty’s allegations, with the Israeli Foreign Ministry describing the organisation as a “delusional fringe political organisation.” Other reports said Israel dismissed the allegations as false and baseless.

The United Nations and most governments regard Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank as illegal under international law. Israel disputes that position.
