Former WPLG meteorologist Amanda Pappas has launched a Passes subscription account after leaving the Miami ABC affiliate’s weather team.
Pappas, a Bronx-born weathercaster known online as “Weather Bestie,” is using the platform for premium posts, weather updates, lifestyle content, videos and direct fan messaging.
Industry newsletter FTVLive reported that Pappas is no longer with WPLG-TV. The station has not publicly announced her departure, and her name no longer appears on its weather team roster.
Passes allow creators to charge for photos, videos, livestreams, private messages and paywalled posts. The platform prohibits nudity and pornography, setting it apart from OnlyFans.
One short video on Pappas’ account was listed at $8 to unlock, while a membership package was priced at more than $50 per month before a discount to about $36.
Her page says subscribers receive priority messaging, paywalled content, weather updates, livestreams, monthly freebies and discounts on additional paid content. The number of subscribers was not disclosed.
Before joining WPLG, Pappas worked at WINK News in Fort Myers and WTSP-TV in Tampa. Her most recent published WPLG stories were dated Feb. 16 and focused on South Florida weather forecasts.

The move places Pappas among media personalities building direct-to-fan brands outside traditional local television.
