Alex Salmond has faced warnings of a business exodus from an independent Scotland after stating the country would keep the pound even if the remainder of the UK refused to enter a currency union.Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, predicted banks and other major financial institutions would leave Scotland rather than risk having no central bank to bail them out during future financial crises.
