Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has recently become more politically active.
Aleema Khan marked her entry into the political arena with unscheduled visits to Peshawar and Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without informing the Chief Minister before her arrival.
During her visits, Aleema Khan engaged directly with grassroots party workers, including those recently incarcerated and members who expressed dissatisfaction with the party leadership. These party workers raised several grievances against prominent PTI leader Aleem Khan and other senior figures within the party. In response, Aleema Khan launched a campaign to rally support for her brother Imran Khan’s release, working closely with the party workers to mobilize grassroots efforts.
Amidst growing internal discord within PTI, the party leadership has initiated measures to mend these fractures. They have established a committee under the leadership of former President Arif Alvi to address the unrest. Arif Alvi will listen to the concerns of the disgruntled party factions and provide recommendations for reconciliation.
The committee plans to present its findings and suggestions within a week to restore unity and resolve ongoing disputes within the party. This action highlights the party’s commitment to strengthening its internal cohesion and effectively addressing the concerns of its members.
