Talking to the media after walking out of Speakers’ lounge where they kept waiting for the verification of resignations at the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday, Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said 25 of the PTI members kept waiting for two and a half hours till 4:15 pm but were never called by the speaker.

He said they were on time for the process and offered for an individual verification but in vain.

He emphasized that government has learnt nothing from the past as they are still practicing ‘horse-trading’ and offering ministries and money to our members.

We have accomplished our moral, constitutional and political obligation, he added.

Qureshi said people chanting democracy have themselves mutilated it.

He further pointed out massive irregularities in numerous constituencies that have been acknowledged by members of NA as well.

He clarified that chairman PTI Imran Khan’s stance from the very first day was that PTI’s mandate has been snatched and so he will fight for free and fair choice of people’s representatives.

The government has rendered the parliament redundant as all the decisions are taken outside the parliament, he added.

He said the PM didn’t bother to appear in NA for a whole year.

Referring to his own resignation he said his resignation was easily accepted and nobody called him for verification while the election on his seat was smoothly carried out as well whereas the present government is reviving the defunct politics.

Giving PTI’s policy statement he said neither of the members who didn’t reason shall remain a member to the party.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi chanted “Go Nawaz Go” at the end of his address to the media and so did others.
