Adobe has officially introduced its Generate Video tool, powered by AI, in public beta, allowing all users to access it and expanding the Firefly AI Suite with the new Generate Video Tool and subscription options.
This cutting-edge tool, powered by the Firefly Video Model, was first introduced in September 2024. Alongside this release, Adobe has redesigned its Firefly web app, providing an improved interface that simplifies access to its suite of generative AI tools. Additionally, the company has introduced two Firefly subscription plans to enhance user experience.
Adobe’s AI Video Generation Tool: Generate Video
Generate Video marks Adobe’s first AI-powered, end-to-end video generation tool, capable of producing 1080p resolution videos at 24fps. The tool allows users to create videos using text prompts or images while offering detailed customization options, including camera angles, motion control, shooting distances, and art styles. Currently, it generates five-second-long videos and includes advanced features such as:
- Locking the first and last frames for scene continuity
- Maintaining colour and character consistency
- Customizing cinematography details for precise storytelling

The Firefly web app, launched in 2023 as a hub for generative AI tools, has received a major redesign. The new interface makes it easier to navigate Firefly’s tools, which are now directly integrated into Adobe Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Adobe ensures its Firefly AI models are trained on licensed and public-domain data, making them IP-friendly and safe for commercial use.
Additionally, Adobe has launched two premium AI tools on Firefly:
✔️ Scene to Image: Creates high-quality images from 3D sketches and reference shapes, allowing users to adjust angles and perspectives.
✔️ Translate Audio/Translate Video: Converts audio files and video dialogue into 20+ languages while preserving the original speaker’s voice.
Unlike Generate Video, these tools require a paid subscription.
