Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Achraf Hakimi reportedly has a net worth of $24 million, with his mother controlling 80% of it, as disclosed during the footballer’s divorce from actress Hiba Abouk.
At 24 years old, Hakimi is 12 years Abouk’s junior. Abouk’s net worth of $2 million is significantly less than that of the Moroccan defender.
Their brief marriage could have resulted in Hakimi parting with $8.5 million. However, it was concealed that none of the assets were in his name.
Hakimi’s soon-to-be ex-wife was unaware that his mother was responsible for all purchases, such as vehicles, jewelry, and clothing.
Notable public figure Andrew Tate applauded the PSG player for discovering a way to retain his wealth, but others have criticized his actions.
Hakimi receives around $1 million monthly from PSG, where he shares the locker room with soccer icons like Lionel Messi and Neymar, but retains only about 20%.
The remaining portion of his salary, approximately $215,000 weekly, is deposited directly into his mother’s bank account.
Hakimi ranks as the sixth highest-paid player in Africa and has gained immense popularity since guiding Morocco to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He is also close friends with Kylian Mbappe.
His club and the national team have expressed support for Hakimi in light of troubling allegations made by a woman claiming that he attempted to assault her at his residence.
