Five Pakistani soldiers were martyred in an IED during a clearance operation in Balochistan’s Kahan area.
In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the operation was underway when an IED exploded near the leading party on Saturday.
Captain Fahad and four other heroic sons of the soil, Lance Naik Imtiaz, Sepoy Asghar, Sepoy Mehran, and Sepoy Shamoon, “embraced martyrdom,” the news release said.
ISPR stated a sanitization effort is underway to catch the offenders. “Such cowardly acts by inimical elements cannot sabotage Balochistan’s hard-earned peace and prosperity.”
ISPR stated, “Security forces will oppose their evil designs even at the cost of blood and lives.”
In an earlier statement, ISPR said that a terrorist was killed and a soldier was martyred in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Zhob district.
According to an ISPR statement that the operation, begun on “credible information,” has been ongoing for 96 hours,
The goal was to “Deny terrorists the use of few suspected routes to move across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to sneak into KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) along the interprovincial boundary and target citizens and security forces.”
During the creation of blocking positions to prevent the terrorists’ escape routes, the militants opened fire on the security forces, the ISPR reported.
In the subsequent firefight, a terrorist and Sepoy Haq Nawaz were slain. In addition, two soldiers were hurt, ISPR stated.
Facilitators also helped the terrorists from over the border through gunfire, and the sanitization operation continued to catch the remaining criminals.
