A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit Lahore and other cities in Punjab, including Jhelum, Kamalia, and Gujrat, causing widespread panic as people hurried out of their homes and buildings.

The tremors also affected Nankana Sahib, Jalalpur Bhattian, Wazirabad, Shahkot, Bhalwal, and other cities.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) reported that the earthquake originated near Kharian at a depth of 15 kilometres.
