Paramilitary troops and cops late yesterday night claimed to have shot dead at least three terror suspects.
“Rangers and policemen ran into heavy armed resistance from a group of ‘entrenched’ shooters as they tried to bust a hideout in Surjani Town. The shootout did not stop until all the terrorists were dead,” according to officials.
The three deceased militants are said to be the operatives of an outlawed outfit involved in a number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
“With the recovery of a suicide vest, hand grenade, submachine gun (SMG), and a caliber 30 pistol, the raid also saved the city from a major act of terrorism”.
Sources quoted another official as saying that shots fired by the slain terrorists also left a Rangers personnel wounded. Fortunately, none of the rest of the raiding party members were injured in the encounter, they added.
