The police on Friday arrested 115 suspects including eight illegal Afghan refugees and 20 in an extensive search operation in Pabbi Circle.
According to police, the detained suspects were wanted for various violent crimes including murder, attempted murder, possession of illegal arms, etc.
Besides, arms, police also recovered 60 unregistered motorcycles in the action, in which elite forces used sniffer dogs.
“The operation was conducted in the jurisdiction of the three police stations — Pabbi Circle, Azakhel, Pabbi and Akbarpura— in the last 24 hours,” District Police Officer (DPO), Nowshera, Rabnawaz Khan told reporters.
DSP Pabbi, Adnan Azam was also present on the occasion.
He added the eight unregistered Afghan refugees were booked under Foreign Act while a team had been constituted for investigating the other suspects.
DPO Nowshera further said that in the wake of deadly Peshawar school attack the police had expanded the circle of investigation.
“A master plan has been prepared for the three tehisls of the district,” he told the media. (Agencies)
