Federal defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that no decision was yet taken by Pakistan to send troops to Saudi Arabia to join coalition strikes on Yemen.
In an interview with popular news channel SAMAA.TV on a programme called “Nadeem Malik Live” yesterday, Asif said that there was no threat to the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia. “We will extend all out support if Saudi territorial integrity is compromised,” he said.
He said Saudi Arabia has made no demand to Pakistan. “Our resources will be available if any threat is made to Saudi Arabia,” he said.
He rejected speculations that Pakistan has sent troops to Saudi Arabia.
“We value our friendship with Saudi Arabia, but we don’t want the conflict to escalate,” he added.
