PTI Chairman Imran Khan has expressed gratitude to his supporters for extending good wishes on his marriage on Friday.
Imran Khan, Reham Khan had Valima-cum- lunch with students of a local religious seminary.
Khan on his Twitter account said “I want to thank everyone for their good wishes on my marriage & would ask those wanting to send a gift to donate to SKMTH Peshawar instead,”
Imran Khan wed a TV journalist in a simple ceremony at his Islamabad home yesterday, ending years of speculation surrounding the former playboy cricketer-turned-political-demagogue.
The 62-year-old PTI chief, who is the father of two sons from his previous marriage to British socialite Jemima Khan (nee Goldsmith), tied the knot with Reham Khan, the 41-year-old TV journalist in a simple ceremony.
PTI spokesperson said there are no wedding or valima receptions. Simply food will be distributed amongst poor children.
Khan wore a cream-coloured Sherwani, the national dress of Pakistan, while Reham wore an off-white Peshwaz dress with red brocade border.
Reham, 41, was previously a BBC weather host and according to media reports she is also a divorced mother of three.
