The election tribunal on Saturday disqualified Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq after irregularities were confirmed in NA-122 polls that were held in the constituency in the May 2013 general elections.

The tribunal in the verdict declared NA-122 results null and void and ordered for conduct of re-polls in the constituency within next sixty days.

It may be mentioned here that PTI Chief, Imran Khan had challenged the victory of PML-N’s Ayyaz Saiq alleging that he rigged NA-122 polls.

Ayyaz Sadiq may approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the decision.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters clashed outside the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) office ahead of NA-122 verdict announcement over alleged rigging in the constituency.

A large number of political supporters of both parties have gathered outside the ECP office and chanted slogans against each other.
