Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif (COAS) vowed to eliminate terrorism, despite multiple challenges.
The COAS visited Pakistan’s high commission in London on Friday and attended a dinner reception hosted in his honour . The reception was attended by a large number of people from British and Pakistani communities.
Addressing on this occasion he said that December 16 tragedy in Peshawar clearly indicates that terrorist can go to any extreme.
He also remarked “Pakistan is in the state of war. The military courts were set up in accordance with the wish of people,”
Talking about the IDPs from North Waziristan, the COAS said that the measures are being taken up for the rehabilitation of the IDPs and Pakistan will soon get over all the problems despite numerous challenges it is facing.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) director Major General Asim Bajwa, the Army chief visited the Royal College of Defence Studies and the Sandhurst Military Academy on Thursday.
Army spokesman Bajwa said that General Sharif presented Pakistan’s perspective on security and the challenges faced.
Addressing Pakistani cadets at Sandhurst, the army chief advised them to excel and make their country proud.
The Army chief is currently on a three-day tour of Britain.
