A powerful temblor measuring 7.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted major parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and central parts of the country earlier today.
According to Director National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake originated from Hindukush region bordering Afghanistan at a depth of 236 kilometers.
The tremors were felt across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral and various cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad, at 3:29pm.
No loss of life or property has so far been reported.
