Choosing to bat first, Pakistan struggled early, losing three wickets for only 19 runs. Salman Agha scored 32, and Tayyab Tahir added 21, stabilizing the innings. Contributions of 20 from Qasim Akram and 22 from Arafat Minhas helped Pakistan reach a somewhat competitive total of 132.
Zimbabwe began their chase strongly, with opener Brian Bennett scoring a crucial 40 runs. Captain Sikandar Raza contributed 19 runs.
