Former President and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) patron in-chief, Asif Ali Zardari has telephoned the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, Sheikh Rasheed and exchanged views with him on the current political crisis in the country.

According to details, Asif Ali Zardari informed the PTI chief about the decisions made in the meeting of PPP central executive committee (CEC). He also gave some suggestions for resolving the issue in a better way.

During the conversation, both the party chiefs took each other into confidence, on current political situation of state.

The PPP patron in-chief also called Awami Muslim League (AML) head, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and urged him to make efforts for ending the political deadlock through peaceful talks, to which the later said that the PTI chairman, Imran Khan has gone far away.

Earlier today, Asif Ali Zardari presided a meeting of the PPP CEC, during which some members urged for taking a clear stance on the current political situation.

They criticized that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) neglected and mishandled the issue, and it terribly failed in resolving the matter.

After serious revelations made by the former Additional Secretary ECP, PPP members also urged for taking a stand over the looting of their mandate in Punjab.

Sources told that, Asif Ali Zardari replied, “PMLN is passing through the ‘honeymoon’ period and we do not want to take any such move which could worsen the situation in Punjab”.
