Zac Efron experienced a severe accident in an Ibiza pool, which could have had dire consequences. The incident occurred when he presumably misjudged a dive, striking the bottom of the pool.
While the Paris 2024 Olympic Games showcase skilled diving, Efron may now think twice about diving into shallow waters. The 36-year-old actor required hospitalization on August 2 after an early morning swim with friends at his villa on the Spanish island turned dangerous.
Initially reported as a ‘swimming incident,’ TMZ revealed that Efron had hit the pool’s bottom and inhaled significant water. Two villa staff members assisted him from the pool in a distressed state, and he promptly went to the hospital for safety.
Doctors conducted an x-ray, confirming that no water remained in his lungs—a potentially life-threatening condition had it persisted. Although Efron was cleared to leave the hospital after a few hours, he chose to stay longer to avoid the paparazzi waiting outside.
Recovering in Ibiza, Efron later posted a photo of himself lifting weights on an exercise ball, indicating his recovery. Over the image, he wrote, “Happy and healthy. Thanks for the well wishes.” Efron continued to enjoy his time in Ibiza and returned to the United States on August 5, leaving the health scare behind.
