Yuvraj Samra’s century vs New Zealand powered Canada to a competitive 173-4 in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group D match at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Canada made a confident start. Openers Yuvraj Samra and captain Dilpreet Bajwa built a steady foundation at the top. They rotated the strike smartly and avoided unnecessary risks during the power play.
As a result, Canada crossed the 50-run mark comfortably. Samra led the charge, while Bajwa supported him with controlled stroke play.
Bajwa eventually fell for 36 off 39 deliveries in the 14th over, leaving Canada at 116-1. However, Samra remained unfazed. He accelerated in the middle overs and put sustained pressure on New Zealand’s bowlers.
