An additional district and sessions judge earlier today sought comments from the Liaquatabad SHO in Lahore on a petition seeking a case against three people accused of gang raping a woman whom they offered a job.
Petitioner Sakhawat Ali told the court that his niece had gone to Data Darbar where she met an old woman, Zainab. He said Zainab asked his niece why she was visiting the shrine. He said his niece told that she had come to pray for a job. He said Zainab told her that her wish had been granted, because she had a job in mind for her. He said she told her to come for an interview on May 13 at a vegetable market.
He said when she went there, Zainab took her inside a building where two accused Amir and Zafar gangraped her. He said when he approached police with the issue, the SHO did not entertain his request. He asked the court to direct police to register a case.
