Islamabad: Lawmaker will resume debate today (Wednesday) in Parliament’s special joint session on whether or not Pakistan should join Saudi-led coalition against Yemen rebels.
In yesterday’s session, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the government would finalize its policy on Yemen’s issue in accordance with the decision of the Parliament.
In his speech, the PM reaffirmed government’s stance that Pakistan would defend Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
He categorically said the government had not taken any decision on Yemen’s issue so far.
In Monday’s session, government’s intention to step in Yemen crisis was vehemently opposed by opposition parties, including PPP, ANP, MQM, PML-Q and PTI.
