Actor Won Bin has offered to pay off the 700 million KRW debt incurred by the late actress Kim Sae Ron, who tragically passed away in February 2025.

The debt stemmed from a DUI incident in May 2022, when Kim Sae Ron collided with an electric transformer, resulting in widespread power disruptions.

The issue renewed attention on March 10, when former MBC reporter Kim Se Eui disclosed a call recording on her YouTube channel, Garosero Research Institute. The recording revealed conversations with Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, who detailed the hefty debt and her niece’s previous association with actor Kim Soo Hyun.

Initially resolved by her former agency, GOLDMEDALIST, the agency later reversed its stance, demanding repayment under the threat of legal action.

In this revealing recording, a netizen highlighted that Won Bin, known for his role alongside Kim Sae Ron in Man from Nowhere, was aware of her financial challenges and had purportedly offered to alleviate her burdens by settling the debt. This act of generosity starkly contrasted with the alleged pressure from Kim Soo Hyun, which some believe exacerbated her emotional turmoil, contributing to her untimely demise.
