WhatsApp is unveiling a major update designed to streamline the process of sharing status updates and enhance the accessibility of status creation tools.
According to information from WABetaInfo, the update is now accessible to a select group of beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.3.22 from the Google Play Store.
The latest enhancement introduces two new shortcuts within the gallery sheet, accessible by tapping the floating action button in the ‘Updates’ tab. These additions allow users to swiftly create text-based updates or share voice messages as status updates, broadening the scope of content types beyond traditional photos and videos.
Moreover, the update features a dedicated shortcut for recording voice messages directly on the status update creation screen, making it more user-friendly. Previously, the ability to record voice updates was integrated with the text status update feature. Now, with a distinct shortcut, WhatsApp aims to make voice updates more prominent and accessible, simplifying the user experience.
The adjustment is advantageous for users unaware they could share voice messages as status updates. It promotes the exploration of voice statuses, potentially transforming how users interact with their contact list.
