Meta’s WhatsApp has introduced a new user interface, enhancing its design to provide a “fresh new look” while maintaining the familiar ease of use, the company announced in its X post.
The update includes several changes:
- A revamped layout and icons to help users navigate more efficiently.
- New, animated illustrations that add a playful touch.
- A promotional video detailing these updates has been released for Android and iOS platforms.
According to WABetaInfo, this update, now widely available to iOS and Android users, also introduces a deeper dark mode for Android. This mode features higher contrast and deeper tones, designed to minimize eye strain in dim environments and improve readability.
For Android, the update adds a modern, native bottom navigation bar, mirroring an iOS-like interface, which aids quicker access to needed features.
iOS users will find sending photos and videos simpler with a new attachment layout that replaces the full-screen menu with an expandable tray. This layout offers easier access to media, polls, documents, and more.
The update also brings chat filters to Android and iOS, facilitating the search and management of important conversations.
The new interface is already available to most users. Those who have not received it can expect to see the changes in the next app update. This overhaul modernises the app’s appearance while preserving its essential functionality.
