WhatsApp, a messaging platform owned by Meta, has declared its upcoming discontinuation of support for certain Android smartphones beyond October 24, 2023. This transition will impact older phones using Android versions preceding 5.0. Therefore, individuals using such devices might need to contemplate an upgrade.

Presently, WhatsApp supports Android versions 4.1 and above, but from the said date, it will solely cater to devices with Android 5.0 or newer. Globally acclaimed, WhatsApp boasts over 1 billion users monthly, facilitating communication through text, photos, and videos across diverse devices like smartphones, tablets, PCs, and select smart TVs.

Notably, as of October 24, 2022, iPhones operating on iOS 10 and 11 lost WhatsApp support. IPhone users should ensure their devices run on iOS 12 or later versions for uninterrupted service.
