WhatsApp is expanding its beta testing on Android devices to include a new ‘Read All’ feature.
The functionality allows users to mark all messages as read with a single action, effectively clearing their unread message count. Previously mentioned as being in development, it has become accessible to a broader group of beta testers through the latest beta update.
Initially identified by the feature tracker WABetaInfo, this enhancement is designed to streamline chat management on WhatsApp.
According to tests conducted by Gadgets 360 on the Android beta version 2.24.20.19, the feature operates as expected. Users can access the ‘Read All’ option from the overflow menu by tapping the three-dot icon. Once selected, this option marks all messages in the chat list as read, eliminating the need to select each chat manually.
This feature and others, such as blocking messages from unknown accounts and various theming improvements, are among the latest innovations rolled out to beta testers.
While it is currently available to Android beta testers, iOS users may need to wait longer. The feature is anticipated to be included in a stable update for all users in the future.

It’s important to note that while many features are tested in beta, not all are guaranteed to transition to the public version of the app. However, including this feature in the beta version is a strong indication that it will likely be released to all users in the upcoming months.
