Apple’s 35th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is scheduled for June 10-14, featuring a keynote event on June 10 at 10:00 AM PT, the event on Apple’s official website and YouTube channel.
WWDC 2024’s keynote is set to unveil updates, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2, with no current buzz about new hardware launches.
Amidst recent showcases of AI advancements by Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, Apple is expected to introduce significant AI features across its platforms. These enhancements aim to revolutionize user interactions with Apple devices and cement the company’s standing in AI.
Wedbush Securities analysts have highlighted this WWDC as “the most important event for Apple in over a decade,” given the expected focus on AI.
Continuing the format adopted since 2020, WWDC 2024 will be primarily an online event accessible to all developers at no cost.
Apple will also host an in-person gathering at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino on June 10 despite the digital format. This special session for developers, students, and selected media will include the keynote, a “State of the Union” presentation, and the Apple Design Awards, providing opportunities to interact with Apple staff.
The spotlight at WWDC remains on software, with anticipated updates to iOS 18 that could mark the most substantial changes to the iPhone in years, particularly through AI-driven enhancements. Similar features must be extended to MacOS and other Apple operating systems. However, specifics about what the updates will entail remain under wraps.
