The Pakistan Champions have advanced to the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 final following the withdrawal of the India Champions from their scheduled semi-final clash, tournament officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Earlier in the tournament, the defending Indian Champions secured a remarkable semi-final berth after a commanding victory over the West Indies Champions. This win propelled them ahead of the England Champions due to a superior net run rate, ultimately placing the India Champions fourth in the standings.
The semi-final would be a blockbuster encounter between traditional rivals India Champions and Pakistan Champions, who lead the league table with nine points from five matches.

Pakistan Champions topped the group with nine points from five matches. However, a withdrawal led to the cancellation of the semi-final, allowing Pakistan to advance directly to the final on Saturday against the winner of the second semi-final.
In a formal statement, the WCL organisers said: “At WCL, we have always believed in the power of sport to inspire and bring about positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected after all, everything we do is for our audience.”

They added: “We respect the India Champions’ decision to withdraw from the semi-finals and equally acknowledge the Pakistan Champions’ readiness to compete. Taking all factors into consideration, the match has been called off. Consequently, Pakistan Champions will advance to the final.”
The Pakistan Champions will now face the winner of the second semi-final scheduled for Saturday, as anticipation builds towards the WCL 2025 championship decider.
