Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Waseem Akhtar elected as Karachi’s mayor here on Wednesday.
According to unofficial results, Wasim Akhtar, has been elected as mayor of Karachi whereas MQM candidate Arshad Vohra was elected as Deputy Mayor of Karachi.
In Hyderabad, Tayyab Hussain of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was elected as mayor of Hyderabad by baggin 111 votes. PPP’s Pasha Qazi got 27 votes.
Election were held for Town Committee, Municipal Committee, Municipal Corporations, District Municipal Corporations, Metropolitan Corporation and District Councils.
In Sukkur and Badin, a stronghold of Zulfikar Mirza, PPP has won the mayor elections.
Voters of the Electoral College of aforementioned local councils will produce original CNIC before the respective Presiding Officer and cast vote.
