Pak Suzuki Motor Company has permanently suspended bookings for all Wagon R hatchback variants, effective March 11, 2025.

Pak Suzuki Motor has temporarily halted bookings for the top variant. In a notice to dealers, Pak Suzuki confirmed the suspension of the Wagon R and instructed sales teams to notify customers.

The Wagon R was introduced in 2014 and initially came in three variants: VX priced at Rs 899,000, VXR at Rs 1,049,000, and VXL at Rs 1,089,000. Over the years, the base VX model was discontinued. In 2020, a new variant called AGS was launched, featuring an automated gear shift and an airbag, with an introductory price of Rs 1,890,000. However, prices have significantly increased recently, with the current prices being Rs 3,214,000 for the VXR, Rs 3,412,000 for the VXL, and Rs 3,741,000 for the AGS.

Suzuki Wagon R Declining Sales

Sales of the Wagon R have steadily declined. From July 2024 to February 2025, Pak Suzuki sold only 1,608 units, down from 2,285 units the previous year. Meanwhile, other Suzuki models outperformed it. For instance, the Suzuki Swift sold 5,295 units, the Cultus 1,887 units, and the Alto a robust 28,194 units during the same period.

The Wagon R suspension marks a shift for Pak Suzuki. Rising costs and falling demand likely drove this move. As a result, customers seeking affordable hatchbacks may now turn to alternatives like the Alto or Cultus.
