On Monday afternoon, a private jet belonging to Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil collided at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, leading to one death and several injuries, as confirmed by authorities.
According to Warrick Robinson IV, Neil’s representative, the singer was not on board the plane when it crashed. The plane carried two pilots and two passengers, all affected by the collision.
“Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers are with all involved, and he is grateful for the fundamental help of all the first responders who attended today,” Robinson said in a statement.
Kelli Kuester, the aviation planning and outreach coordinator at Scottsdale Airport, explained that the arriving plane’s main landing gear failed, causing it to veer off the runway and collide with a parked Gulfstream 200. The arriving plane had flown in from Austin, Texas, with four people on board, while the parked plane had one inside. Casualties and Response
Paramedics transported two individuals who sustained injuries in the accident to trauma centres; one of them is now in stable condition. Captain Dave Folio of the Scottsdale Fire Department mentioned that authorities are currently recovering the body of the individual who died in the collision.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this,” Folio stated.
Officials have closed the airport’s runway, which will remain shut for an extended period while investigations proceed. Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky expressed her condolences, saying, “On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and those receiving treatment at our trauma centre. We will keep all those affected by this tragedy in our prayers.”
Scottsdale Airport is a popular hub for private and commercial flights, especially during major events like the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament, which attracts large crowds to the Phoenix area.
