Exciting news for Vijay Sethupathi fans: the trailer for his 50th film, Maharaja, will be released this Thursday at 5 p.m.
The actor took to Instagram to announce the news, sharing two new posters in English and Tamil.
In the gripping visuals, Sethupathi appears with a blood-stained razor, his face and hands smeared with blood, signalling a thrilling narrative ahead.
Maharaja, written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, also stars notable figures such as filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Abhirami. Kashyap expressed his excitement by posting on Instagram Stories, “It’s loading.”
The post comes after last September’s reveal of Sethupathi’s first look from the film. In that intense image, he is seated in a barber’s chair, clutching a bloodied sickle, with cuts and bruises marking his visage an ear notably wounded while police officers peer at him through a shattered wall.
Upon sharing the first look, Anurag Kashyap expressed his pride in joining the project, stating, “Congratulations, Vijay Sethupathi, on your 50th film. I am so honoured and delighted to be part of it.” He extended his best wishes to Passion Studios, Nithilan Saminathan, Mamta Mohandas, Abhirami, and the entire team, highlighting the collective anticipation for the film’s success.
