Acclaimed actor Treat Williams, famed for his performances in “Everwood” and “Hair,” tragically died at 71 from a motorcycle accident in Vermont on Monday. His long-time agent, Barry McPherson, confirmed the heartbreaking news.
McPherson recounted the accident, stating, “Treat was making a turn when a car cut him off, leading to his fatal crash. The loss is immense. Not only was he incredibly kind, but his talent was unmatched.”
Paying tribute, McPherson referred to Williams as “an actor’s actor” and “the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s,” mentioning how proud Williams had been of his recent work.
The accident occurred near Dorset, Vermont, around 5 pm on Monday, per Dorset’s Chief, Jacob Gribble. The car driver failed to notice Williams making a turn, resulting in a collision. Williams was the only person injured and was airlifted to a New York hospital.
Williams’ acting career spanned several decades, beginning with the 1975 thriller “Deadly Hero.” He then starred in numerous films, including “The Ritz” and “The Eagle Has Landed,” released in 1976.
