Under the Ramzan relief package, Utility Stores in Pakistan will provide 19 subsidized products. The Ramzan package is estimated to be around 500 billion rupees.
The Ramzan relief package would be divided into two categories: 1.15 billion for Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) beneficiaries and 3.85 billion for general customers. The Ramzan Relief Package will begin on March 20.
Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers’ Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved Ramzan funding for the Ramzan relief package.
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) authorized a mixed model Ramzan Relief Package (targeted and non-targeted) consisting of 19 Utilities Stores Corporation projects with a budget of Rs 500 billion.
The Ministry of Industry and Production has approved the executive summary. As a result, BISP consumers will receive a 100 rupee subsidy for ghee, 52 rupees for flour, 30 rupees for sugar, 400 rupees for a 10-kilogram bag of flour, 300 rupees for ghee, and 70 rupees for one kilogram of sugar.
While the average consumer will receive a subsidy of Rs. 27 per kilogram for flour, Rs. 11 per kilogram for sugar, and Rs. 25 per kilogram for ghee, the subsidy for 10 kilograms of flour is Rs. All consumers will receive a 20 rupees per kilogram subsidy for beans, 25 rupees for cooking oil, 50 rupees for dates, 15 rupees for beverages, 100 rupees for tea, and 30 rupees for milk and black tea.
