The Utility Stores Corporation has announced a price reduction on over 800 essential items, including ghee, cooking oil, tea, and various household products.
The spokesperson for the Utility Stores detailed that discounts will range from 8 to 60 rupees per item, depending on the product.
This price decrease affects many brands and includes ghee, cooking oil, tea, surf, noodles, ketchup, tetra-pack milk, dry milk, spices, pickles, soap, and toothpaste.
The corporation has notified us that the new prices are effective today.
Although the subsidy under the Benazir Income Support Program is temporarily on hold, it will resume shortly with a new system in place, the spokesperson added.
Customers can continue to purchase these essential items from stores freely and without conditions. The corporation is also exploring price reductions for other products.
In contrast, the federal government had previously contemplated closing utility stores nationwide due to financial limitations, as Industry and Production Ministry Secretary Saif Anjum explained to a Senate committee.
