The US dollar increased against the Pakistani rupee in interbank transactions. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the rupee depreciated by four paisa, concluding the day at Rs 279.35, slightly down from Tuesday’s close of Rs 279.31.
In the open market, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) noted the dollar’s buying and selling rates were at Rs 279.2 and Rs 282.1, respectively.
The Euro also saw an increase, rising by 32 paisa according to the SBP, to end the day at Rs 303.40, up from Rs 303.08. Similarly, the Japanese Yen marginally appreciated by one paisa, closing at Rs 186. The British Pound experienced a notable uplift of 93 paisa, trading at Rs 355.05, compared to Rs 354.12 the day before.
The exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal rose by one paisa, finishing at Rs 76.05 and Rs 74.48, respectively.
In the gold market, the price for one tola of 24 karat gold surged by Rs 1,500, reaching Rs 225,400, as opposed to Rs 223,900 on the previous trading day. The cost for 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 1,286 to Rs 193,244 from Rs 191,958, while the price for 10 grams of 22-karat gold advanced to Rs 177,140 from Rs 175,962, as reported by the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.
The prices for one tola and ten grams of silver remained steady at Rs 2,600 and Rs 2,229.08, respectively.
