Scott Urbom, the US Consul General in Karachi, along with members of the American mission, extended their warm wishes for prosperity and joy to all celebrating Sindh Culture Day.
The US Consul General Karachi shared video messages in Sindhi, expressing peace and love, with the greeting, “Sindh jo Sakafati Deharho Mubarak Hojay.”
Urbom and consulate officials donned traditional Ajrak shawls and Sindhi caps on this cultural day. “On Sindh Culture Day, we celebrate the rich heritage of a land renowned for its mystics, Sufis, poets, and saints. Sindh has long been a symbol of inclusivity and tolerance,” Urbom remarked, highlighting the province’s historical significance and cultural richness.
The US Consulate General in Karachi took to social media to share their celebration, posting: “Happy Sindh Culture Day. It’s time to honour the vibrant traditions of Sindh, a land that has inspired generations with its mystics, poets, and saints. From its timeless Sufi teachings to its respect for cultural and religious diversity, Sindh embodies the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and tolerance.”
They continued to engage with the community by asking followers to share their favourite aspects of Sindh’s cultural heritage.
Sindh Culture Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of December, not just in Sindh but by Sindhis worldwide. This day highlights the centuries-old culture of the province. Sindhis express affection for their rich cultural heritage by wearing traditional Sindhi caps and Ajrak.
Additionally, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori congratulated the people of Sindh on this special day, further acknowledging the significance of the celebration.
