In a peculiar case in Monmouthshire, Wales, Damian Wojnilowicz, aged 36, has been sentenced to 22 months in prison for a burglary that involved completing household chores and cooking a meal in a woman’s home, along with leaving a disturbing note.
The report detailed how the homeowner returned to find her possessions rearranged. Wojnilowicz’s bizarre activities included laundering and hanging clothes, stowing groceries, swapping toothbrush heads, and mopping the floors.
He further organized the kitchen by unpacking new utensils, reorganizing the fridge, and refilling bird feeders, disposing of all packaging neatly in the recycling bin.
Before exiting, Wojnilowicz cooked a meal with the woman’s ingredients and left a note that read, “Don’t worry, be happy, eat up and scratch.” This unsettling experience compelled the homeowner to stay with a friend, driven by fear and anxiety.
In her statement, she expressed the severe stress endured following the intrusion, fearing potential targeting or stalking.
Wojnilowicz’s arrest followed another incident on July 29, where he invaded a man’s home, used the hot tub, laundered his garments, and ate his food. After admitting to both burglaries, he received his prison sentence last Thursday.
