Pop singer Umair Jaswal is to play the major role in the biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express’ based on the life of former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.
Since the beginning of his career, Akhtar has been known as the Rawalpindi Express due to his fast bowling motion and propensity to produce vicious bouncers, making batters hesitant to stand in the crease while he bowled.
The 47-year-old former right-arm bowler holds the record for bowling the fastest delivery in cricket history: 161.3 kilometers per hour.
The actor-turned-singer who will portray Shoaib’s character shared the news on Instagram.
