The London High Court has issued a stringent ruling against YouTuber Adil Raja in a defamation case. Justice Richard Spearman directed Raja to issue a public apology to Brigadier (R) Rashid Naseer and imposed substantial financial penalties.
The court ordered Raja to publish the apology across all his social media accounts, including X, Facebook, YouTube, and his personal website. The statement must remain visible for 28 consecutive days. This ruling stems from an October judgment that declared Raja’s allegations against the retired brigadier baseless and defamatory.
The court imposed a £50,000 fine for defamation. It also ordered Raja to pay £260,000 in legal costs, with additional expenses to be determined later. This brings the total immediate financial liability to over £310,000.
The court noted that Raja had acknowledged the defamatory nature of his statements during proceedings. It emphasised that posts across 10 social media platforms had necessitated legal action, severely damaging Naseer’s reputation.

Adil Raja did not appear in court for the latest hearing. Brigadier (R) Rashid Naseer was present to observe the ruling. The court noted that neither Raja’s spouse nor his legal counsel could find a valid basis to overturn the order.
The High Court’s decision explicitly prohibits Raja from any further misleading or harmful actions. This effectively tightens the legal constraints around him in the UK jurisdiction. Raja’s lawyer has indicated a possible appeal to a higher court, though options appear severely limited.
In October 2025, the British court first ruled in favour of Brigadier Naseer. It declared Raja’s allegations false and noted his complete failure to provide any substantiating evidence.
The presiding judge stated the social media posts had seriously damaged the plaintiff’s reputation. The Royal Court of Justice had previously ordered a total payment of £350,000, comprising £50,000 in damages and £300,000 for expenses.
