The incident that led to Ameer Balaj Tipu’s demise unfolded last Sunday during a wedding event in the vicinity of Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore. It was reported that an armed assailant targeted Balaj Tipu, who had recently been affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), resulting in his immediate death.
The attack also resulted in injuries to two other individuals, with the assailant being neutralized in a retaliatory exchange of fire by Tipu’s security detail. The police are thoroughly investigating the sequence of events and the underlying motives of the attack.
Ameer Balaj Tipu was the offspring of Arif Amir, alias Tipu Truckanwala, a figure with connections to the transportation industry, who himself fell victim to gunfire in 2010 at the Allama Iqbal airport parking area.
