On Saturday, three Pakistan Army major generals were elevated to the lieutenant general rank. Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), was among those promoted.
The promotions included Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain. General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, has assigned new responsibilities to the newly promoted officers.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry will maintain his role as DG ISPR. Lieutenant General Bukhari has been appointed Commander of 11 Corps in Peshawar, and Lieutenant General Hussain will now lead as Chief of Logistics Services at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Notably, Lieutenant General Bukhari was distinguished with the Sword of Honour in the 84 Long Course. Lieutenant General Hussain, hailing from Hunza, has been honoured with a presidential gold medal.
Before their promotions, both officers served as Vice Chief of General Staff at GHQ. Details of these promotions were not officially announced before this report.
